All citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age are welcome to participate in this program. In addition, this program allows applicants to bring their spouses, unmarried children below the age of 21 and parents above the age of 60 as dependants.

Financial Requirements

Applicants are expected to be financially capable of supporting themselves on this program in Malaysia. Financial proof can be in the form of cash, deposits, bonds, securities, properties and other assets.

  • Applicants aged below 50 years are required to show proof of liquid assets worth a minimum of MYR 500,00.00 and offshore income of MYR 10,000.00 per month.
  • Applicants aged 50 and above may comply with the financial proof of MYR 350,000.00 in liquid assets and offshore income of MYR 10,000 per month.
  • Retiree receiving government approved pension will need to show financial proof of MYR 200,000.00 and monthly persion of RM10,000.00 per month.
  • New applicants who have purchased properties worth at least RM1 million qualify to place a lower fixed deposit amount upon approval.

Documentation Requirements

Detail information about personal information, the reason of moving to Malaysia, and various supporting documents such as copy of bank statements, payslips and pension slips are required to support the application. Health Requirements

Applicant must be healthy enough to travel to Malaysia for a medical check-up, and must not be a carrier of contagious disease such as HIV or Tuberculosis. Upon successful application, applicants must obtain a valid medical insurance in Malaysia, if they do not have existing cover. However, for elderly applicants who were rejected by the insurance company because of age factor, we are able to ask for a waiver for the insurance requirement. Other Requirements

  • Applicant must not be a prohibited person under Immigration Act of Malaysia.
  • Applicant from Israel, Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) will need special approval.
  • Applicant interested to stay in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia must be over 50 years old, and is subject to a different financial requirement. (New update 17 March 2007)
