Participants
of Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Program are provided with various incentives
to make their stay even more comfortable and enjoyable in Malaysia. The
incentives provided are as follows:
Business & Investment
Participants are allowed to invest and actively participate in business [subject to existing government policies, regulations and guidelines which are in force for the related sectors.
Employment
Qualified
MM2H participants aged 50 and above with specialised skills and expertise can
apply to work in sectors approved by the Government. The approval to work part-time is subject to
the following conditions:

The application to work part-time is approved by the Malaysian Government

The work contract needs to state that the MM2H
participant is working part time and to attach the work schedule

Total
number of hours work per week must not exceed 20 hours
Freedom to travel
Participants who have a permanent residential address in Malaysia under this program are entitled to apply for the MM2H ID Card, which allow them to pass immigration checkpoints into Malaysia as residents. Moreover, there is no minimum stay requirement, so participants can stay in Malaysia for as long as they wish or otherwise.
Three Generations of your family as dependents
Parents of participants who are aged 60 years old and above, wife of the participants as well as unmarried children below 21 years old can apply as dependents to come to Malaysia together with the participants.
Tax
Participants are bound by the policies, systems and
regulations of taxes of this country and they do not have exemption
qualifications as granted to Diplomatic Missions in Malaysia. However,
foreign-sourced income received by an individual in Malaysia are not subject
to tax even if such income is remitted to Malaysia, since Year of Assessment (Y/A) 2004.
Car Purchase
Each participant will be allowed
to bring in his/her own personal car OR to purchase a locally-assembled
car without the need to pay import duty, excise duty and sales tax.
This tax-exemption can be obtained if an application is submitted to
the Ministry of Finance within 6 months of acceptance into the Malaysia
My Second Home Program.
Note : 'Personal Car' is referred to a car which was purchased by participant before applying for the MM2H programme.
House Purchase
After a year of participating in the Malaysia My
Second Home program, you are entitled to withdraw either MYR 50,000 (below 50 years old) or MYR 150,000 (above 50 years old) of your fixed
deposit pledged to fulfill the financial requirement of the program, to
purchase residential properties that subject to the following conditions:

above RM 350,000 for certain areas in the state of Sarawak

above RM 250,000 for other states in Malaysia
Education
As well, your children will be able to enrol in the
many world-class institutions in Malaysia. After a year of participating in the Malaysia My Second Home
program, you are entitled to withdraw either MYR 50,000 (below 50 years old) or MYR 150,000 (above 50 years old) of your fixed deposit
pledged to fulfill the financial requirement of the program, to cover
the education cost of your children.
If your
children intend to continue their schooling in Malaysia, they will be
required to apply for a Student Pass after they have secured the entry
to a Private Education Institute.
Healthcare
Malaysia has various world-class medical facilities.
Medical services at public facilities are offered at a nominal cost,
whereas services at private facilities are at a very reasonable cost.
Certain medical needs of the participants are covered under the
compulsory medical insurance. After a year of participating in the
Malaysia My Second Home program, you are entitled to withdraw either MYR 50,000 (below 50 years old) or MYR 150,000 (above 50 years old) of your fixed deposit pledged to fulfill the financial requirement of
the program, to pay for medical cost.
Domestic Helper
The program allows participants like yourself to
employ a foreign maid to assist you at home, such that you won't have to
waste precious time on household chores. Each applicant is allowed to
apply for one foreign maid subject to the prevailing guidelines of the
Immigration Department of Malaysia. Please note that unless your maid is from Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippine, Sri Lanka or Thailand, special approval is needed.
